I love shooting extended family sessions. Having all of your posterity documented together is just about the most valuable thing you can have, and it’s always such an honor to me to be asked to do it.
What can I expect?
When you arrive, we’ll start with the full group. From there, we’ll narrow it down to smaller groups (to see the exact order I use, scroll down.)
Once the session is finished, I’ll go home and immediately back up your images in several places. We don’t want to risk losing images!
Generally editing takes 2-3 weeks. When your images are done, you’ll receive an email with the link to your gallery. Don’t stress it if computers make you nervous! I’ll send you very specific instructions on how to download your images.
What order Does Rachel Shoot in?
Grandparents=you, parents=your kids, grandkids=your grandkids
First, we’ll take photos of the whole group. I’ll do 3-4 different set ups so that you have options.
Next, we’ll take photos of just the grandkids with grandma and grandpa. And then just the grandkids without grandma and grandpa.
Next, we’ll do the parents. Your original children, them and their spouses, and then with you.
Next, we’ll do each individual family.
That will include a couple group family shots, then a shot of the kids together, each kid individually, and mom and dad together.
We’ll finish the session with portraits of Grandma & Grandpa. It can be tempting to skip these, but trust me, your family will treasure them! Don’t worry, I’ll make sure you look great!
After that, if you have any other requests, I’m happy to include them! Sometimes people like shots of all the girls & all the boys, etc. Don’t hesitate if you have something else you’d like to add!
